What's this all about?
Momentum, Thrive's Student Choreography Show is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for Thrive dancers to step into the role of choreographer, collaborator, creative director—and bring their vision to life on stage. Throughout this guided mentorship experience, you’ll learn what it takes to build a piece from the ground up: from movement creation and casting to staging, storytelling, and leading rehearsals. Whether it’s your first time choreographing or you’ve got big ideas you’re ready to bring to life, we’ll meet you where you are and help you grow from there!
By participating, you’ll gain:
A deeper understanding of choreographic tools and how to express your voice and vision through movement
Experience teaching, rehearsing, and refining your work with feedback
Insight into the full production process—from lighting and costumes to music and marketing
Leadership and communication skills that extend beyond the studio (how to lead a group of peers, how to apply for a position you'd like, how to teach and more!)
Creative collaboration with a supportive and motivated community of peers

📣 Marketing Team – Help with social media, posters, email copy, dancer interviews, and more!
🎧 Tech & Backstage Crew – Support lights, sound, props, and smooth transitions during the show. (this role is not available for choreographers or dancers in the show)
🎟 Front of House – Greet guests, help with ticketing, ushering, and creating a welcoming experience. (this role is not available for choreographers or dancers in the show)
🎤 Rehearsal Support / Stage Assistant – Be an extra set of eyes and hands during rehearsals. Help with check-ins, timekeeping, or dancer notes (this role is not available for choreographers or dancers in the show)
